U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Adam Scherrer, a scout sniper with Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, demonstrates how to properly engage targets on an aerial platform aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD-20), in the Philippine Sea, Mar. 2, 2023. Marines participated in the aerial sniper training to increase their proficiency in engaging and identifying targets from an aerial platform during Iron Fist 23. Iron Fist is an annual bi-lateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
