Casey Bates, of Yakima, Wash., a dog handler with Route Clearance Patrol-29, Alpha Company, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, and his tactical explosives detection dog, Argo, secure an area in the mountains of Paktika province, Oct. 9, 2012. RCP-29 spent three days and three nights working nonstop to clear the route of improvised explosive devices for a U.S. Army convoy.
