Command Master Chief Tom Countryman takes a pause for the cause circa 2010 outside Expeditionary Medical Facility Kuwait. Countryman deployed as an Individual Augmentee (IA) primarily helping provide urgent and emergent expeditionary medicine, primary care and combat force health sustainment for Navy Central Command ground missions into Iraq. There were still approximately 90,000 American troops at that time serving just north in Iraq before an expected draw down to nearly 50,000 by the end of August of that year.
