U.S. Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 115 check GBU-38 bombs while attached on an F/A-18D Hornet aircraft after being exchanged with an AN/AWW-13 Advanced Datalink Pod during a hot loading validation event at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, March 24, 2023. Marines with VMFA-115 conducted the first ever hot load of an AGM-84D Harpoon missile during a validation event. The validation further enables loading of different types of ordnance while the aircraft is running, giving greater capability and increased sortie generation of tactical aircraft in the Indo-Pacific.
