Billy Tate, an aircraft ordnance technician with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 115, guides a short airfield tactical support weapons loader operator carrying an AGM-84D Harpoon missile during a hot loading validation event at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, March 25, 2023. Marines with VMFA-115 conducted the first ever hot load of an AGM-84D Harpoon missile during a validation event. The validation further enables loading of different types of ordnance while the aircraft is running, giving greater capability and increased sortie generation of tactical aircraft in the Indo-Pacific.
