Attendees enjoyed traditional foods which were served during the Jewish Passover Model Seder at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) on March 23 to celebrate the beginning of Passover, which starts at sundown on April 5.
The Seder, a festive meal celebrated by Jews around the world led by Rabbi Randy Brown and Cantor Arianne Brown, included blessings, rituals, commentaries, and songs, where Rabbi Brown led attendees through the “Haggadah.” the holy book used during the Seder to recount the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt. U.S. Navy Chaplain (Capt.) Chris Hester led a prayer about liberty and redemption. Attendees enjoyed food and music while also sharing what freedom meant to them, and how thankful they were to build community.
