TANGIER, Morocco (March 14, 2023) Chief Engineering Aide Zachary Fairfield from Carlinville, Ill., right, and Builder Constructionman James Davenport, left, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, discuss the importance of setting elevations for batter boards for formwork. This is an integral part of the foundation when building a new structure in Tangier, Morocco, March 14, 2023. This Maritime Training Facility will provide a technical platform for facilitating maritime operational training for the Royal Moroccan Navy Special Forces. NMCB 1 operates as a part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and is assigned to Commander, Task Force 68 for deployment across the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa area of operations to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
