TANGIER, Morocco (March 20, 2023) Chief Engineering Aide Zachary Fairfield from Carlinville, Ill., left and Builder 3rd Class Preston Cunningham, from Madisonville, Ky., right, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, utilize a theodolite to find the corner and elevation of the job site footers to ensure the footer is square prior to starting the construction on the Royal Moroccan Navy Maritime Training facility in Tangier, Morocco, March 20, 2023. This Maritime Training Facility will provide a technical platform for facilitating maritime operational training for the Royal Moroccan Navy Special Forces. NMCB 1 operates as a part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and is assigned to Commander, Task Force 68 for deployment across the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa area of operations to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
