Canines serve in each branch of the U.S. military. Today, the USAMMDA Warfighter Protection and Acute Care (WPAC) Project Management Office team is developing expeditionary freeze-dried canine blood plasma kits for possible future use by veterinarians and frontline providers in the joint forces to treat wounded and injured Military Working Dogs (MWD). The WPAC team received 10 canine freeze-dried plasma training kits in December 2022 as part of the ongoing development initiative. (Official U.S. Army Photo Illustration by T. T. Parish/Released)
