Airmen of the 168th Wing participate as multi-capable Airmen outside of their Air Force specialty career fields and participate in crash-damaged disabled aircraft recovery (CDDAR) training at Volk Field, Wisconsin, April 3, 2023. CDDAR is one of the various methods used to recover aircraft. Multicapable Airmen work as a team to lift the aircraft off the ground a minimum of 8 inches which can be applied to any aircraft that has skidded off the runway or is stuck in any terrain. The multi-day flyaway readiness exercise focused on the Department of the Air Force’s priority of Agile Combat Employment, which uses multi-capable Airmen to increase operational resiliency and survivability while generating combat air power.
