U.S. Marine bulk fuel specialists with the Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 based in Jacksonville, North Carolina, assemble Fuels Operational Readiness Capability Equipment (FORCE) at Key Field in Meridian, Mississippi, April 16, 2023. The FORCE will allow them to extract fuel from a C-17 Globemaster III jet owned by the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard, as a part of Exercise Southern Strike 2023, which is a total force, multinational training event hosted annually by the Mississippi National Guard in Gulfport with distributed basing sites and complex scenarios designed to test and validate shared agile combat employment (ACE) concepts.
