Smoushi, an agribusiness company in Ben Arous, Tunisia, specializes in aged-black garlic products. USAID’s Tunisia JOBS program is helping the company find prospective customers for these niche cooking products in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, which will double its sales and lead to 12 new jobs by May 2023. While there is strong demand for black garlic in foreign markets, Smoushi has limited experience in sales prospecting and export development. USAID is working with the company to generate business leads, negotiate with buyers, comply with export regulations, and tailor its product packaging to each market.
