U.S. Navy Ticonderoga-class cruiser USS San Jacinto (CG 56), the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), and Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) (from left to right respectively), conduct a strait transit and Defense of the Amphibious Task Force (DATF) drill during Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (ARGMEUEX) while underway in the Atlantic Ocean, Apr. 26, 2023. DATF integrates Marine Corps and Navy capabilities, including aircraft, crew-served weapon systems, snipers and electronic warfare, to defend the ships in a wide range of combat situations.
