Navy Lt. Cmdr. (Dr.) Sara Drayer (left), of gynecologic oncology at Walter Reed, is congratulated by Navy Capt. (Dr.) Kelly Elmore, Walter Reed’s chief of staff, for earning first place in the recent 38th Annual Navy-wide Academic Research Competition held May 16 at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC), Portsmouth, Virginia. Drayer's research focused on the effects of regional nerve blocks on intraoperative and immediate post-operative opiate requirements in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy.
