CM2 Brent Cleaver from Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 303 Detachment Bangor, Wash., answers for the deceased CM3 Marvin Shields as role is called during a Veterans Day ceremony in honor of Shields. Shields is the only Seabee Medal of Honor recipient to date. He is laid to rest at Gardiner Community Cemetery in Gardiner, Washington. Each year on Veterans Day, active duty and retired Seabees gather to pay their respects to their fallen shipmate and his widow, Mrs. Joan Shields-Bennett.
