CORONADO, Calif. (May 23, 2023) Electronics Technician 3rd Class Abbigail Little, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit (EODESU) 1, uses a PRC-117G radio during an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 communications exercise at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California, May 23, 2023. The exercise utilized a variety of cutting-edge devices that linked and branched off each other to create a meshed network that enhances the communication capabilities of Navy Expeditionary Combat Forces operating in austere environments. EODGRU-1 is a critical part of Navy Expeditionary Combat Command that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas, employs advanced tactics and technologies to exploit and secure the undersea domain for freedom of maneuver, builds and fosters relationships with trusted partners, and protects the nation.
