Pfc. Nicholas Potter, a cavalry scout assigned to Troop A, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, pulls rear security for his team during a room clearing exercise at the Oro Grande Shoot House Training Facility in Fort Bliss, Texas, Nov. 13. Potter, a native of Willingboro, N.J., and his fellow soldiers took part in the close quarter combat training during Network Integration Evaluation 13.1 exercise. In addition to assessing radios, satellite systems and smartphone-like devices during the exercise, the “Iron Brigade” Soldiers continued to conduct realistic combat training like the urban operations exercise held at the shoot house.
