230608-N-KW492-0028 EAST CHINA SEA (June 8, 2023) Operations Specialist 1st Class Josue Aurelis, from New York, tracks surface and underwater contacts on a console in the combat information center of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Antietam (CG 54) while it participates in Surface Action Group (SAG) operations in the East China Sea, June 8, 2023. Antietam is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 70, and Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5, and is participating in a multiple large deck event, that has U.S. Navy carrier strike groups led by flagships USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), joined with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s (JMSDF) Izumo-class helicopter destroyer JS Izumo (DDH 183) along with surface units from Canada and France.
