FORT MCCOY, Wisc. - The ArmyReserve/49th Multifunctional Medical BN recently completed their annual training at the Combat Support Training Exercise, Aug 6-20.
The medical battalion improved their readiness capabilities by training on various scenarios that replicates conflicts in austere environments.
Lt. Col. Robert Vincent, 49th MMB commander, said during an interview with the 85th Support Command that the CSTX increase the battalion's proficiency to conduct future disaster relief missions.
"As a Multifunctional Medical Battalion, we need to know how to go out to the field and to an austere environment," said Lt. Col. Vincent. "Our unit also conducted Hurricane Rita relief under the Defense Support of Civil Authorities; the CSTX will only increase our proficiency to conduct future DSCA missions."
