BAYAMON, Puerto Rico- The Puerto Rico National Cemetery conducted a Memorial Day commemorative tribute to the brave men and women who have given their lives in sacrifice to our country, May 29.
"On this Memorial Day, we honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, their selflessness and bravery will never be forgotten," said Col. Carlos Caceres, 1st Mission Support Command commanding officer.
The mood at the cemetery was one of quiet reflection and reverence, as service members, family members and civilians rendered tribute to those who have given their lives for our freedom.
Many of the gravestones were adorned with flowers and flags, a testament to the respect that these fallen heroes have earned.
