ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 31, 2023) Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Alexandria Martinez, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78), poses for a photo while breaking stores out as the ship’s “Jack of the Dust” for the ship’s “Steel Beach Picnic”, May 31, 2023. During the observation, a day of rest for the crew, Porter Sailors participated in a variety of exercises and discussions about mental health, and had the opportunity to participate in a Steel Beach Picnic and swim call on the flight deck. Porter is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by the U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
