A U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Operations Training Group evaluator assigned to Expeditionary Operations Training Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, observes and evaluates Marines assigned to 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) during an amphibious assault, Combat Town, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 2, 2023. The assault was the final event of Composite Training Unit Exercise (C2X), providing training of Marine movement from ship to shore with follow-on action as part of 26 MEU’s Special Operations Capable Certification. Expeditionary Operations Training Group organized C2X as the culminating exercise in the 26th MEU’s pre-deployment training program, ensuring they are ready to respond as a forward-deployed, sea-based MAGTF, capable of conducting amphibious operations as a crisis-response force-in-readiness and able to conduct contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations.
