A Canadian officer asks questions about the principles of Women's Peace and Security (WPS) at the WPS Symposium held at the Morning Calm Conference Center, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys, Republic of Korea, 13 June 2023.
Women's Peace and Security (WPS) recognizes the diverse roles women play as agents of change in preventing and resolving conflict as well as building post-conflict peace and stability.
The goal of the United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea WPS program is to promote meaningful contributions of women in the defense and security sectors on the Korean Peninsula.
WPS promotes women's full and equal participation in peace and security as a prerequisite to achieving sustainable peace throughout the region.
