Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. John H. Felix, is honored with an award from Oxford University and applause from attendees during a National Flag Day ceremony hosted by the Military Order of the World Wars and the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Oahu Veterans Center, Honolulu, June 14, 2023. Approved by Congress as a National observance on August 3, 1949, Flag Day commemorates the date in 1777, in which the first design of the national flag of the United States of America was approved. The cake was in honor of the U.S. Army birthday and National Flag Day.
