U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. David Ottignon, Commanding General, II Marine Expeditionary Force, congratulates Petty Officer 1st Class Raymond Soriano, a hospital corpsman, with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit's (MEU) Battalion Landing Team on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 16, 2023. Soriano was the recipient of the 2023 Marine Corps League's Chief Hospital Corpsman George William 'Doc' Piercy Award, awarded to a Navy corpsman in the operating forces who has made a significant contribution to increased combat medical readiness within the organization. The Marines and Sailors of the 26th MEU Marine Air-Ground Task Force came together to celebrate and recognize their perseverance and diligence during an enhanced nine-month pre-deployment training program. The event was a reminder of the importance of teamwork and the value of hard work, serving as a source of inspiration for the Marines and Sailors to continue to strive for excellence in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
