U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Michael Stanger, an aviation maintenance technician assigned to the 1109th Theater Aviation Support Maintenance Group, Connecticut Army National Guard, is promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five by his wife Tracy during a promotion ceremony at the 1109th Theater Aviation Support Maintenance Group, Groton, Connecticut, April 21, 2023. Stanger started his military career in the Navy, loading munitions on F/A-18 Hornets. He transitioned to the Army National Guard, first as an AH-1 Cobra pilot for Rhode Island, then later as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot for the Connecticut Army National Guard.
