A U.S. Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit guides a joint light tactical vehicle through the vehicle staging area aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS New Orleans (LPD-18) off the coast of Australia, July 29, 2023. The Marines aboard the USS New Orleans are working to support missions to deploy motorized units for exercises taking place in Australia. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
