230620-N-ZZ999-1001 PALAWAN, Philippines (June 20, 2023) Steelworker Constructionman Kevin Flood, from Mount Kisco, N.Y., assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, cuts a bar of reinforcing steel for a school building foundation. U.S. Navy Seabees with NMCB 3 are working alongside U.S. Marine Corps engineers of the 7th Engineer Support Battalion and Philippine Navy Seabees of the 3rd Naval Combat Engineer Battalion to build an 18-by-7-meter schoolhouse for Carlos M. Virrey National High School in Brooke’s Point, Palawan. NMCB 3 is forward-deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction for the U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection. The battalion stands ready to complete assigned tasking, support humanitarian aid/disaster relief, and major combat operations throughout the area of operations.
