A U.S Navy landing craft, air cushion with Naval Beach Unit 7, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, makes land fall during a field training at Shoal Water Bay Training Area, Australia, July 5, 2023. The Marines of 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion conducted road security tactics by simulating denying a enemy access to roads through use of communication as well as firepower. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
