The Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps performs during a Relinquishment of Office ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. on July 10, 2023. The 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. David H. Berger, relinquished the office to Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Eric M. Smith. Until a new Commandant is confirmed by the Senate and appointed to the position, Gen.
