U.S. Marines with 3rd Littoral Logistics Battalion, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, present an unmanned vehicle to Mr. Ino Toshiro, State Minister of Defense, Japan Ministry of Defense, during a static display on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Hawaii on July 11, 2023. MARFORPAC, MCBH, and the 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment hosted State MOD Ino to discuss U.S. Marine Corps transformational improvements to its capabilities, and how these improvements will optimize our force posture in the Indo-Pacific, including in Japan. These improvements will provide more versatile, resilient, and mobile capabilities for the defense of Japan, in accordance with the January 2023 Joint Statement of the U.S. Japan Security Consultative Committee (2+2).
