    230715-N-MD461-1047 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 15, 2023) Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class William Torres, right, a native of El Paso, Texas, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Colin Raswell, a native of Lubbock, Texas, assigned to the “Blue Hawks” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 78, conduct maintenance on a blade from an MH-60R Sea Hawk in the hangar bay of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1’s flagship, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. Integrated exercises prepare our Sailors to respond quickly. U.S. 3rd Fleet works in close coordination with other numbered fleets to provide commanders with capable, ready forces to deploy forward and win in day-to-day competition, in crisis, and in conflict.
