U.S. Navy hospital corpsmen third class Kayle Madej, with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, demonstrates to Marines how to maintain a blood bag during a blood transfusion exercise aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD-20), in the Coral Sea, July 21, 2023. The combat life saving training qualifies Marines to be able to treat life threatening injuries in combat environments. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
