U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Manuel Funes instructs Petty Officer 3rd Class Keziah Cary on the proper execution of a sword manual technique during Corporals’ Course hosted aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Atlantic Ocean, July 19, 2023. Funes is a motor vehicle operator and Corporals Course instructor with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), and Cary is a cryptologic technician technical with the USS Bataan. The 26th MEU(SOC) is running Corporals’ Course concurrently onboard all three ships of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) which also includes the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) and the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50).
