Frankie Shinost, Jr., and Petty Officer First Class Patrick Quill, during an awards ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec. 3, 2012. The Marines and corpsman were presented the award for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity against the enemy while engaged in combat missions in Helmand province, Afghanistan, nearly two years ago.
