Master Sgt. Perry A. Sikes, a Savannah, Ga., native and calibrations chief with 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, poses for a photo aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., after returning from a four-day relief effort launched to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy early in November 2012. The battalion's Marines independently raised more than $1,000 in a matter of hours to send with Sikes on his journey to New Jersey, where his volunteer group, the Crystal Coast, N.C., chapter of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, delivered supplies and helped care for impacted residents.
