British army Bdr. Matt Sharp, an artillery reconnaissance soldier assigned to the U.K. Royal Lancers, “Aliwal Troop,” supporting NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Poland, shows a Polish junior cadet how to operate an L7A2 General Purpose Machine Gun mounted on a “Jackal” vehicle during an equipment familiarization event outside of Klusy, Poland, Aug. 3. The event, Baltic Guard, consisted of junior cadets from Baltic countries attending multiple days of training in Poland to familiarize themselves with NATO and Polish equipment. U.S. Army Soldiers supporting the 4th Infantry Division also took part in the event. The 4th Inf. Div.'s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe.
