Arnold Engineering Development Complex Commander Col. Randel Gordon, right, speaks with Arnold Fire and Emergency Services Chief Daryle Lopes, second from left, about the LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System July 28, 2023, at Arnold AFB, Tenn., headquarters of AEDC. Arnold FES was able to acquire two of the automated CPR devices through Arnold Engineering Development Complex Spark Tank funding the department received earlier this year. The LUCAS 3 is designed to deliver uninterrupted chest compressions at a consistent rate and depth, whether in the field, during transport and throughout arrival to the hospital. Also pictured from left are Arnold FES paramedic/firefighter Pete Dwyer, AEDC Test Support Division Chief Lt. Col. Eric Withrow and Col. Kurt Bruggeman, Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the AEDC commander. (U.S. Air Force photo by Bradley Hicks)
