Kelly McKeague (right), Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) director, speaks with Kenneth Weinheimer (left), a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Montana Chapter 2 and the department commander, during the 2023 DAV and Auxiliary National Convention POW/MIA seminar at Harrah's Waterfront Conference Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Aug. 6, 2023. Weinheimer is a also a member of the DAV Interim POW/MIA Committee and shared with McKeague DPAA’s personal impact to his state when two months ago DPAA helped return WWII pilot Lieutenant Gordon Eugene Thompson to his hometown, Moccasin, Montana, and provided the Thompson family and the town with closure. DPAA attended the four-day DAV convention from Aug. 4 to Aug. 8, 2023 to raise awareness of the agency’s mission in conjunction with DAV.
