A Joint Service Color Guard presents the colors during a Dec. 7, 2012, remembrance ceremony marking the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the island of Oahu, at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, formerly known as the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center in Honolulu. On the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, a surprise attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy against U.S. Pacific Forces on the Hawaiian Islands thrust the United States in World War II.
