    U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Rodger Matthews deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) presents a wreath on behalf of USARPAC at the USS Arizona Memorial, Dec. 7, 2012, during a remembrance ceremony marking the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the island of Oahu. On the morning of Dec. 7, 1941 a surprise attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy against U.S. Pacific Forces on the Hawaiian Islands thrust the United States in World War II.
