Spc. Nicholas Torresmith, from Jacksonville, North Carolina, a Soldier with 1st Battalion (Airborne) 509th Infantry Regiment, Joint Readiness Training Center competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition engages a target during a stress shoot, Aug. 14, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The stress shoot consisted of burpees, a kettlebell-carry, sprint, Sked drag and multiple target engagement lanes. The competition tests the squad’s proficiency in their warrior tasks and battle drills and identifies the most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined, and fit team that is ready to fight and win, while demonstrating a commitment to the Army Values (leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personnel courage) and Warrior Ethos.
