230801-N-DP708-1032 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 1, 2023) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Elijah Moreflohs, left, a native of San Diego, California, and Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class Darryl Bell, a native of New York City, New York, perform corrosion treatment and prevention on an F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the “Bounty Hunters” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 2, in the hangar bay of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1’s flagship, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. Integrated exercises prepare our Sailors to respond quickly. U.S. 3rd Fleet works in close coordination with other numbered fleets to provide commanders with capable, ready forces to deploy forward and win in day-to-day competition, in crisis, and in conflict.
