Ryan Austin, from Queens, New York, a Soldier with 1st Armored Division, III Armored Corps competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition performs the 25-meter High Crawl while conducting the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment, Aug. 17, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The EPFA is a combat-focused physical assessment and is conducted in the Army Combat Uniform, boots, body armor and helmet. Each Soldiers’ individual readiness is vital to the effectiveness of the squad, and the readiness of the Army as a whole.
