Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command biologists and volunteers pose for a picture in Yigo, Guam, Aug. 18, 2023. Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, is home to one of the last bat colonies on Guam. Every year Airmen, their families and other local organizations volunteer to help NAVFAC biologists go on base and count the bat population in the early morning. Fruit bats on Guam are a threatened species and the count is to help the biologists know if the population is growing or shrinking. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Pedro Tenorio)
