U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Marcus Chestnut, the intelligence chief with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, writes notes during a tomorrow’s enlisted advisors and mentors (T.E.A.M.) class aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Philippine Sea, Aug. 19, 2023. The TEAM training is a proactive approach to produce leaders for tomorrow’s non-linear confrontation by creating a curriculum that teaches the hidden movements that are related to each rank as a Marine progress in their career. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
