A U.S. Army Reserve Soldier, with the 996th Engineering Company, engages enemy combatants while on a convoy training exercise at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Aug. 23, 2023. Horizontal construction engineers faced multiple challenges on the convoy including chemical gas attacks, improvised explosive devices, injured Soldiers and an ambush. Training included a walk, crawl, run phase to help prepare the Soldiers for real-life situations. Modernization efforts are transforming the Army Reserve’s ability to support the Army’s role as a multi-domain capable force - at home and abroad. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Spc. Addison Shinn)
