NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Aug. 31, 2023)
A remotely-located logistics detachment of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), with the support of Naval Support Activity (NSA) Souda Bay’s Air Cargo Services department and Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella, Site Souda Bay, prepares to load cargo destined for the ship aboard a C-2A Greyhound assigned to Detachment Two of the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40, Aug. 31, 2023. The remotely-located logistics detachment of the forward operating ship serves as a staging location for carrier onboard deliveries of materials, supplies, mail and personnel. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore installation which enables and supports U.S., Allied, Coalition, and Partner nation forces to preserve security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
