U.S. Army Soldiers inspect the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) personal protective equipment of U.S. Army, Egyptian, and Jordanian servicemembers during a joint contaminated downed unmanned aerial system exercise during Bright Star 2023, Sept. 10, 2023, at Mohamed Naguib Military Base, Egypt. Joint training in CBRNE allows for shared knowledge among partner militaries to protect military and civilians from CBRNE attacks. Bright Star 2023 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command exercise held with the Arab Republic of Egypt across air, land and sea domains that promotes and enhances regional security and cooperation, and improves interoperability in irregular warfare against hybrid threat scenarios.
