USACE is actively supporting Maui County, the state of Hawai’i and FEMA by providing temporary power, coordinating recovery efforts for critical public facilities and the county's debris removal efforts from areas impacted by the Aug. 8, wildfires. As commander of the Pacific Ocean Division, Gibbs is responsible for regional authority over four USACE districts, including the Honolulu District.
